“Some red hot wiener makers blame fast-food restaurants that sell $1 entrees to cash-strapped customers and chains such as Subway that sell food at gas stations and convenience stores.”
IMHO,what might be another part of the cool sales, the insistence of total healthy food regiment have probably deleted hot weenies from being a part of a one’s diet heritage. Having some weenies once and a while won’t kill ya.
When we grew up, stopping at the New York System when we had the spare change was common as we walked down broad street before we were old enough to drive. The typical diner had the wieners (grille) located near the door, so it was a quick stop in and the wieners were quickly made and wrapped.
